Sharon
Guli
with
Miss
Tabitha’s Victorian Presentations

|
Sharon Guli has been designing and
building historical costumes for ten
years. Covering eras that range from
Colonial to Rhinestone Cowboy,
Sharon’s work demonstrates a flair
for design, regard for authenticity,
and attention to detail. She blends
her backgrounds in historical
re-enactment, vintage dance, and
costuming with ongoing research to
create garments that beautifully
capture the look of each period.
Sources for her work include old
prints and photographs, period
patterns, and close examination of
vintage garments in private
collections and museums.
The interest generated by her
historical costumes led Sharon to
develop a business called Miss
Tabitha’s, offering a number of
programs to showcase her work, ranging
from solo presentations to a
full-scale fashion show with multiple
models featuring styles from the
1840’s to the early 1900’s. She is
also an instructor of period dance and
etiquette, teaching dances of the
Colonial, Victorian, Pioneer and
Ragtime eras.
Sharon has brought her historic
presentations and clothing to museums,
tea houses, churches, retirement and
nursing homes, social clubs, and many
more venues. She has also developed
several unique programs especially for
schools. She has shared her passion
for historical clothing and dance both
locally and nationally, from Chicago
to Las Vegas to Atlanta. Her ongoing
passion for research and authenticity
and her creativity in costuming and
producing new shows have enabled her
to bring history alive in an
entertaining while educational
fashion.
